First Religious Profession and Reunification and Renaming of Indore Province

“From them will come songs of thanks giving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained” (Jer 30:19)

Year 2019 dawns with so many blessings in the Province of Indore. 12th Jannuary, being 190th anniversary of the Foundation of our religious family, marks an historic event in the annals of the congregation and of our Province as the Indore province is Re-unified and Re-named as St. Mary’s Province that has been formalized by a decree pronounced by the General Counsellor, Mother Philomina V undersigned by the General Superior, mother Gladys Eberhert. Hereafter we are happy to be part of an International Province as we render a cordial and warm welcome to our sisters in USA and Papua New Guinea.

The First Religious Profession of our novices Alima Minz, Sushila Kerketta, Susmitha Minz and latha Gudupudi increases our joy and adds more color to the day. We celebrate and thank God because He continues to call courageous women to follow Jesus unconditionally in community. In a most meaningful and symbolic articulation of their quest for God, these young ones have opted, to dedicate their whole lives to Jesus Christ, in an espoused and covenantal relationship. As their response to Christ’s invitation for radical discipleship, they offer themselves completely to their Lord and Beloved, by living out the religious consecration. Heartiest congratulations to you dear sisters. We welcome you joyfully and lovingly to our family.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was held in the Holy Spirit Church precided by Rt. Rev. Chacko Thottumarickal, the Bishop of Indore Diocese. The celebration was made unique by the prsence of our dear Mother Philomina, the General Counsellor, Mother Giovanna, provincial Superior of Mother Caterina Podesta Province, Sr. Natalina and Sr.Ines, delegates from USA, Sr. Joseena, delegate from PNG.

May Our Father Founder St. A. Gianelli interceed for his daughters and our Unified Province that through us the great mission began 190 years ago continue with a renewed spirit and vogour. May Our Lady assist us in our journey.
